WE HAVE STARTED A BLOG!
September 2008
After a full season of photographing some of the most remote wild places of the Alaskan Arctic, we are excited to announce the launch of our first blog. Here we would like to share with you more of our experiences in the wild and the work in progress for the ongoing conservation project we have engaged with.
The project featured under the series “Freedom to Roam” will depict the importance of creating wildlife corridors and marine protected areas along the Pacific and Arctic Coast. Under the label “Baja to Beaufort (B2B) ”, Florian together with his partner Emil, will spend the coming years immersed in documenting the drama and beauty as well as the threats and challenges this magnificent coastal landscape faces.
FLORIAN SPEAKING AT MICROSOFT PROPHOTO SUMMIT 2008
July 10, 2008
This week was the 3rd annual Microsoft Pro Photo Summit - a 2-day event that brings together renowned professional photographers and industry leaders to discuss the top issues affecting the industry.
Blue Earth was prominently featured in a 30-minute presentation by nature and wildlife photographer Florian Schulz.
Florian showed examples of current and past Blue Earth projects, and spoke from the heart about how Blue Earth helped him get “Yellowstone to Yukon” off the ground. He followed that with a presentation of his own inspiring images and videos, including recent work documenting the coastal ecosystems from Baja California to Alaska’s Beaufort Sea. Florian highlighted the importance of creating wildlife corridors linking existing parks and public lands, to preserve habitats and ensure diverse and healthy ecosystems.
BAJA TO BEAUFORT SEA - COSNERVATION PHOTOGRAPHY PROJECT
Summer 2008
His ongoing conservation photography project, featured under the series “Freedom to Roam” will depict the importance of creating wildlife corridors and marine protected areas along the Pacific and Arctic Coast. Under the label “Baja to Beaufort (B2B) ”, Florian will spend the coming years immersed in documenting the drama and beauty as well as the threats and challenges this magnificent coastal landscape faces.
From the grand formations of the Baja Peninsula with its oceanic richness, along the rugged Pacific Coast to the freezing waters of the Arctic, Florian will tell the story of a magnificent web of life. A place where giant marine mammals cruise the oceans, myriads of birds congregate on tidal flats, schools of returning salmon fill the streams and the lines of thousands of caribou follow ancient migration routs across the arctic tundra.
