There are times when the world around us becomes too small, controlled, and predictable... We want to escape to a place that gives refuge to our souls, where great vistas elevate our spirits... The Yellowstone to Yukon is such a place... As if through a window in histroy, we can gaze into another time, a world still pulsing with life: bions moving across the prairies, wolf packs on the hunt, the bugling calls of elk fillinf the valleys, river otters fishing the streams, and the mighty grizzly roaming the mountains... isolated islands of national parks... are not the answer to preserving wilderness or wildlife. Large connected stretches of land are necesary to maintain bealthy breeding popultations, migratory routes, and ancestral feedig and birthings grounds... if we consciously direct the path o development, we can keep the ecosystem connected and the visions of Y2Y will be a gift for future generations... |
